Had a Local locksmith drill out the old lock and replace it with a reproduction lock cylinder. Put it back together and now...

1) there doesn't seem to be a start or on position...only one turn to the right and one to the left.

2) Turn the key and I get nothing.

3) Idiot light comes on as soon as I connect the switch to the wiring harness as if it is already in the start position without a key.

Any thoughts? Is it possible to install the lock in the wrong position or is it a switch issue.

thx

ok, I realize this is a fairly lame topic but I figured out what was wrong.

There is a clip at the back of the lock cylinder that activates the ignition switch. Only to ways to put the clip in...spot on or 180 degrees out. The reproduction set I bought had the clip installed 180 out so whenever I plugged it into the harness the oil light came on as if it was in the start position.
