Hello everybody, I was wondering if anybody knew if the shifter mechanism is the same for a 1968 to a 1969 Dart. I mounted a shifter that came out of a 68 Dart GTS in my 69 Dart and the shifter rod seems to be to short, bought a new rod and that also is short. Reading different websites that sell the shifter some say the 68 and 69 are different and some say they are the same. Anybody input would be appreciated, Thanks

I believe '68 used Inland and '69 used Hurst that may be the difference

I'm guessing yes, the design of the shifter for reference

Which shifter rod?

I can't answer your question directly... but I took a shift rod from a column shift, bent and cut it to fit a console swapped car... my car is a 69 and all the parts came from a 68 gts...

If you're talking about the shifter itself, that is in the console mounted to the floor pan; again the shifter, brackets and console are from a 68 gts...
