So a little background car has a 360 with a mechanical fuel pump. We had it out to a local cruise last night and after around a half hour it sputtered and died. Looked at fuel filter and it was empty but after cooling off for a while it fired back up and we were able to make it home. Suggestions possible vapour lock ? Motor has about 500 miles on it.

Funny thing is it only happens when motor gets warm never at startup.

pump low enough? electric ones are cooled by the fuel....

I had a problem after I added headers. The fuel line going to the mechanical pump would boil before it got there.

I was but have the chrome now. http://www.classicindustries.com/mopar/parts/mn2210.html It has a clear fuel filter and it was clearly empty.

Another question I have one of those generic clear fuel filters. With motor runniing should the filter be almost full. It's only about half full.

When I have used those filters never seen them more than half full.....
