I got a call last night about a couple of cars I inquired about six months ago. One of them is a '67 Chrysler New Yorker that I posted about earlier today. The other is a '69 Dodge Monaco. The car is totaled. HUGE DENTS in every single panel. And a TON of rust as well. But the drive train is all there and good. It has a 383 Magnum motor. [Supposedly]. I have no way to actually confirm that at this moment. But lets assume that it is indeed a Magnum motor. Attached is a 727. The motor/trans. only has 67,000 original miles on them. I've looked at the motor and it appears to have never been taken apart. The original owner still owns the car. And gave me the history of it as well. The car was used to tow a small camping trailer. I also saw the trailer. It is really small. The car was also driven like a grandpa. Everything under the hood is all original. I'm just curious if someone knows if this motor/trans combo would be worth obtaining. It is really clean. I'd say he is being honest about the miles on the motor. Does anyone know what this may be worth?? Thanks.

Anyone have any input on this??? I'm thinking of getting this car, and really would like to know what this motor/trans combo might be worth. Just a general opinion if nothing else. Thanks.

What`s he asking for it? I`d say 5 bennies since bodys trashed, Low milage does`nt mean much, especially if its been sitting for years without being started frequently. only that you know you can bore it safely. I`ve spent more for a 440 doner car. But it is a driver, allmost8) It depends on individual and availiability of bigblocks in your area, and how bad you want to stuff a bigblock in something :-D

'Dude, you've caught the C-body sickness now...it's incurable. I have it too. I really miss my 67 Fury. It cruised at 80 all day long.

I'm not sure what they are worth, but I had a chance to buy a late 70's 440 with 727 attached for $500. the tranny was rebuilt, and the engine needed rebuilt, but it was complete right down to the manifolds. I thought it was a pretty good deal...

If it's not a runner,I'd say $500 tops.

The 8 3/4 center section will likely have highway gears.
