69 gas pedal question

What has been used in the retaining hole to hold the throttle cable in place on the gas pedal.

I tried the door plug, bit the plug was too big to fit into the hole. Just a small machine screw and nut? If I remember right it had a plastic plug in the hole from the factory.

You remember right. its just a small plastic hole plug.
