69 valve covers vs 72

I picked up a spare set of valve covers for my project not realizing the differences for the breather on 69 vs 72, 69 having push on vs 72 with the rubber grommet. Seems like the rubber one would be advantageous for sealing? does it matter?

Any advantages to running either? Pictures not mine, but show what i am talking about:

no big deal. because of the plug wire holders, that go towards the rear, the pcv is on the passenger side with the early covers, driver side with the later covers. and the hose from the breather to air filter changes side-only a minor issue if running a stock air can. lack of a grommet-no big deal. the later cover with the oil fill cap is slightly easier to add oil
