Yeah, the apparent width difference threw me at first. That's what drove me to post this. But, the perches are the same. My guess is that the tubes and subsequently the axles are shorter on the 8 1/4 due to the larger brake setups, wheels and tires.

The 7 1/4 was just dropped out of the Scamp and the 8 1/4 came from golduster318, I believe it was in that duster posted in his sig. Thanks again!!

It was certainly a bit narrower than my car's original small bolt 7 1/4. I really don't know why. That rearend was in the 74 Duster in the attachment originally and then spent from 2002 to this January in my car when I swapped it for a B-body 8 3/4. It looked pretty funny in my car but in a scamp I bet it looks great.

It will!!!!

Just can't decide which route to go...
15x7 or 14x10 (if it will fit?!?!?!?)

I think you'll have a hard time getting wide tires for 14's now, and especially in the future. Lots of selection in the 15" size. 225-60/15 on a 15x7 with 4.125 backspacing will fit fine in the front and rear (you're going to have 73+ front disks).

can you fit a 10 inch wide under that car now....with the rear end swap...?
