7 1/4 axle question

Just kind of thinking aloud. I am thinking of finding a 73 and up A-body for a disc brake and possible rear end swap into my 67 Dart. My question is if I find something with a 7 1/4 would the BBP axles swap into my 67 housing, or would I have to swap complete rear ends? Have looked at cracklist (er craigslist) but everything around here seems like they want $5,000 grand for a parts car.

Don't even waste your time looking for a 7.25 rear, get at least an 8.25 (it will have BBP already.

The answer is no. The axles are different.

I have a pair of 7 1/4 BBP axles out of my 75 Scamp. As much as I would like to get rid of these, I have read that they can not work in a SBP diff.

That is a good thought though, I didn't even think about it and just swapped a complete lbp 7 1/4 in where the sbp 7 1/4 once sat. Now I've found a 8 1/4 that I'm getting ready to put in. Stinks my original disc brake donor car only had a 7 1/4 but it was only $200 so I can't complain. It did have a v-8 spool k member too!
