70 A body console

I have been thinking about putting a console in my 70 340 4 speed Swinger. Does anyone know if they were ever made that way and if so, where could I possibly get one. And also, would I need to change the shifter and/or handle? Thanks for the help guys.:drinkers:

70+ cars from what i know did not come with the console. but some older a-bodies did. it is exspensive to buy the 4 speed top plate. you are looking at over 300 just for that.

so, i decide to take a auto one, and converted to a 4 speed style. alot of work. also used a b body shift arm that had a 2 inch jog to the passenger side of the car. i still had to cut it. got it all to work great but hard work. and very tedious

also, to find a original shift handle, they are going for over 400.00 for the hurst shaft alone.
