70 dart, back space????

-
Greetings from south Texas,
I have a 1970 340 Dart that I'm getting started on. It's been a few years so I need a refresher....It has the factory 8 & 3/4 rear...everything stock. My question is....will a 3" backspace work with a 15" steel wheel? Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-15x8-AL...ls&hash=item3f0395605f&vxp=mtr#ht_2147wt_1200

Thanks for any help :???:

I can't say for sure about the backspace, but I think you will need 4" if you're going with 8" rims. Also, that's the wrong bolt pattern for your car, unless something has been changed. You need 5 on 4" bolt pattern, aka SBP.

I also have a 70 Dart with a 8 3/4 factory width and run a 15x7 with 4 1/4 back space. I run a 255/60-15 tire. My car is still sbp. Hope this helps.

Do you have any photos (hopefully with multiple views)? I've been kicking around the idea of 15 X 7 Rallyes for my '71 Dart GT (also with the factory 8 3/4 & Small Bolt Pattern).:burnout:
