I just installed a new set of seat belts in my 70 Duster. I was told that they are correct for my application, but someone has told me that they are not. I am having problems with the retractable lap belts that go between the bench seat and doors. They are tight and cause the doors to be hard to close and rub the door panels. Can you guys tell me if these are the correct belts for my 70 Duster?

Thanks,

Jason

I don't know about a Duster but them are the same as the ones that were in my 70 Dart. I took them out and put non retractible ones in because they were rubbing and the inner door and the seat hinge cover.

Those look right.

Don't forget, back in 1970 NOBODY actually used those things. You ever try using the shoulder harness? That thing is a joke. So... Mopar probably never put much effort into making them practical.

Those are not correct for a '70 Duster, maybe for a '73 and newer.

In 1970 and '71 (maybe '72), the adjustment for the belt was at the buckle end and a solid strap (no retract) at the door sides.

Also your belts should have a patch sewn on them with the part no. and dates.

Those are not like my 70 Duster belts....I do not have the reel on mine.
