I understand that all of the 70 Dusters had the Valiant fender badge that year. I was also under the impression that the V8 badge was left off of the 340 cars and only on the 318 cars.

Well, my buddy just bought an original 5000 mile 340 car that has the V8 badge on it as well.

I know with Ma, there are no absolutes.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Post some pictures :)

The V-8 badge on the 1970 340 Duster was installed on most of the 340 Dusters produced before April 1970. After April 1970, few if any 1970 340 Dusters produced had the V-8 badge applied at the factory. Back in the day, my older brother worked as a car salesman at a large Chrysler Plymouth dealership in 1970, and the 340 Dusters they received from the factory up until April 1970 had the V-8 badge in place.

Have a 71 duster 318 car that had the v eight badge on the fender. Not sure if it was added or not but was a mid 71 model.

Ok, good. It's a console auto EK2 with white buckets. November 20 SPD and a Monroney sticker too. Not sure about the build sheet but it has a ton of paper work. Evidently someone has marred the paint a bit with an orbital polisher.

It sounds like it has made the rounds a bit and maybe sold at Mecum auction in 2016.

Here's some pictures from the Mecum auction...
