A good freind from work has an all original 70 road runner with a 383, air grabber hood, 4-speed butcher block shifter, all original down to the last bolt. Very good shape, including the paint. 43k original miles, always garaged. He asked me if he should get it repainted since it has some chips from road debris.
I told him that if the paint is good and just has some minor chips then repainting the car would really hurt the value verses an orginal paint car. Did I tell him right?

i would leave it as a survivor. just clean everything as best as he can. hot simple green works great. no repaint. just clay bar the paint and put good wax on it.

Leave it alone, it's only original once. Depending on the color he might be able to dab some paint into the chips. I like 70 roadrunners
