Got the car in the shop tonight and pulled off the rear wheels. Didnt like what I found but was kind of expected. Check out the rear lift kit. Used shocks that were bottomed out on the spring even though the springs are at max sag.

Well I got the old rearend out and stripped the new one and also ground off the spring pads. Boring stuff but I took pics. Let me know if you want to see them.

Anyone have pics of the old style wheel flairs?

Here is the old one out. I have another one out of my scamp that was completely restored and cant get rid of. Its even got new brakes and hardware along with 3.23 gears. So Im going to sell them to a friend of mine for 75 bucks ea. Hes uses them for mini garden tractor pullers.

It almost looks like sombody tried to restrict the travel on the rear end to make the front end raise.
Almost like making the rear solid to the car?
Have fun.

Glad you got $75 out of the rear, gave a good one the the junk man 3.23
I had another out my current duster, running, driving new brakes, etc gave it to a guy at work so he could convert his 8.75 to big bolt with 2.5" brakes.

Next I turned my attention to the replacement. Pulled out the axles and found something that looks like pudding. Then removed the center section. Gross again. when I removed the pads I found some damage from rust. I will have to weld in some reinforcements there.:banghead:

Got the rear housing wire brushed and washed. Blew it dry and took a few pics. One pic is a close up of the pad damage I need to fix. I will sandblast and paint this thing after its done being mocked up.
