I have a 71' dart Mancini offset shackles
15" x 8" wheel with 28"x 9" M/T ET slicks
I have 4.75" back spacing wheels.
Not enough b.p.
Measuring looks like a 5.5" b.p. Would clear
Anyone running a similar set up could shed some light.
Going to be a tight fit.
Thanks

Hey:

I have a 71 Dart. I've got 15*8 with 5.5 BS Weld Pro Stars. I don't have offset shackles or a spring relocate. I think maybe I could just barely squeeze that tire in there.

I do have the B-body brakes and monoleafs if that makes any difference. I do not have tailpipes. I have rolled the fender lips on my car.

I have run a Hoosier quicktime pro 27*10.50-15 tire (which was very tight), but I actually had to use a 3/8" spacer on the wheels to get that to work. The sidewalls on the quicktimes have more of a bulge than the straight slicks appear too, so the QTPs might size a little bigger than they actually are.

If you do order a set of those, make sure you check the rollout and get an approximation of the width *before* you have them mounted. I actually ordered a set of those tires, but they were like an inch and a half taller than they were supposed to be and appeared to be wider too. Mickey Thompson did take care of it, but in the interim I had settled on the Hoosiers because of the delay and ended up sending the correctly sized 28*9s back without trying them.

Can you use the offset shackles without a spring relocate?

Good luck.

Steve

I have already installed the offset shackles and moved my springs in.
I think I might wait until spring now to order new wheels.
Maybe some will pop up on this forum or ebay.
I have a brand new set of Cragars black steel I just picked up from Summit (4.75" BP).
Just wanted to see if anyone else is running a similar set up.
I am pretty sure the 5.5" BP wheels will work.
One thing I found out the percy wheel/tire fitment tool is a waste of money.

Same setup here in the Dart. Had 15x8 Super Tricks with the same MT ET Drag 28x9 Slicks. Those Super Tricks were 4 3/4 BS. Worked perfect with the 002/003 SS Springs since the quarter opening lip was above the center of the sidewall. When I switched to the Cal Tracks and the car got slammed in the weeds, I had to change rims. Went with Billet Specialties with a 5 1/2 BS and then used a 1/2" true billet spacer to give me 3/8" inch from the mono spring to the inside sidewall, and 3/8" from the quarter lip to the outside sidewall.
