71 Duster - No hood latch release. How to open?

Trailered a car home yesterday, so I shut the hood, not realising there was no release...
Engine and radiator are in place.

What's the trick to pop the latch?

On a 70-71 it is on the lower apron panel, below the grill. Push to the right to release the primary latch.

It's not there. That's the problem.

A coat hanger might be your friend. It would look like this. The pop up spring is at the top left, latch release is halfway down, would sit below the grill, above the bumper in the opening. You'll have to catch it with a piece of wire to release it with the release gone.

Got it open. Car has inside release, but not hooked up.
