My cousin contacted me and the short is, a relative passed and has 2 340 cudas for sale. I was asked if I'm interested 1st.

The 73 supposedly runs/drives but... the 4spd was swapped for an auto and no 4spd to go with it.
They're both H code BS cars.
Has typical roof and trunk rust.

72 is completely taken apart for body and interior work. New floor and trunk pans. Needs a Dutchman panel installed.
Was sandblasted. Whole interior is supposed to be reupholstered. Body shop and upholstery shop has been paid already.
Car ran before it was taken to the bodyshop. It's been about a year apart.
I have a good mopar buddy gonna go look them over for me.
I haven't been into E bodies since the early 90s, so I'm a bit rusty on pricing on these. Here's the only pics that I have so far.
These are only of the 73 so far except the rallye dash is for the 72.

I'm trying to figure a price to offer.
I realize I can't make any offer until both cars are throughly inspected.

Thanks for responding! I appreciate any help. I may have to lurk on febo to see if anyone sold or is selling any 72/73 340 cudas

google it and ebay is what i do (ebay is normally over priced)
can go on bring a trailer and see what they sold for
and hagerty

You will need to get those as cheap as possible. I don't say that because they're junk, but they need a lot of work and it ain't gonna be cheap. The silver lining is, there's a LOT of sheet metal available for them.

Not sure what other one is like body wise
If metal work is done
Would build the one and sell of the other

10k-ish sounds about right to me. I got my 73 Cuda for about that. It was in rough shape when you looked closely and turned out to be even rougher because of hidden accident repair that was poorly done. Cost me several thousand in frame/unibody repairs that I wasn’t planning on. Go in with eyes open. Mine was pretty decent on the interior. If I was to do it again I would have passed and got a better condition car for a bit more money to start with. I wanted to drive it while I did most of the work but it’s been torn apart for four years now.

The front seats are wrong. Look like A body. E bodies are stupid expensive to buy and restore. If you could get both for 10 to 12 grand I think that's a good buy.

Where's the picture of the other one? I'd certainly want to look underneath that rusty black gem. Could be in for a world of hurt $$$. My 2 cents.

I'm waiting for either my friend to meet up with the owner and look over both cars or see if the owner can get pictures at the bodyshop when the other car is located.

initially I thought they might have been correct for a 73. No hard backing. But after looking at classic industries catalog ( I know it's not always correct) they do look like A body seats. But, in front of the car, the correct ones look like they're there.

If the car is at the body shop what's it gonna take to get the car out? Don't want to buy it & find out the shop won't release it till they get 10K....

The bodyshop is paid. They are aware of the circumstances and shockingly are storing it briefly . Arrangements were in place before contacting me.
I hear you though, that's one of the 1st questions I asked about before I even considered buying them.

If you get both cars for $10 or $12....you might go to jail for stealing! LOL. Prices are out of sight, and they may go for that much money each, especially if they are numbers matching cars. I sold a 74 Cuda 360 that was triple black, AC, PS, PDB about 5 years ago. It was a roller with only the numbers matching block. I asked $9K for it and the guy showed up with cash and a rollback in about 20 minutes! The seat in that pic is more than likely the original seat, but has custom upholstery, which in my opinion looks better than what came in it. A & E body buckets are the same seats, just different seat foam buns and upholstery style, and different tracks to match whichever floor pan. Buy em as cheap as you can....they ain't making any more of them. I wish I'd never sold that 74....but it was on the bottom of the list to fix and I was never gonna get to it. :(

Got a call from my my buddy. He's going over Thursday to look them over. Apparently the one at the bodyshop is in a container. I'm not feeling good over that unless the car is in epoxy primer.
I'll hopefully have more pics and I'm sure will have great, good, bad and ugly info to share.

If the bodyshop knows they are for sale, they will be talking to potential buyers as well= driving price up.
I agree, both for $12k?? Lol, they're ebodies.

I'm not concerned either way if the bodyshop is letting people know. I get the cars, I don't get the cars, I'm not gonna sweat it.
I'll have a better idea what they want and what they're worth after Thursday.

Good attitude, you weren't looking for another project.. Don't get caught in something that costs more than your willing to risk... Black & 4spd are both desirable... But unless you've been looking to get an E body we all know they can suck up a lot of $$$$

I already sense the snobbiness on the rise. LMAO

Sounds like they could be a great get. See where the road leads.

They aren't the most desirable years, but they are doing well for sales on the internet. Give them a few more years and they might be fetching Dodge Charger prices. LOL. The bottom line is they have to be bought right to where you can get a good, finished product in the low 20K area if you want to make a decent markup for all your time and trouble. Or if a flip is in order you have to be upright on the buy.

Lmao, jeez ya meet someone once and they think they know ya!! J/K.
I has 3 71 Cuda / Barracudas at the same time.

Lmao! Here's my E body snobbiness from when I owned some. Look like Joe Dirts dad.
