I pulled the gauge cluster out of my 72 Dart to put in a new wiper switch, well while I pulled it out the 2 amp wires apparently touched and arked. Know that I have everyhting back together (just as it was before) I have no power at all. Everything is dead. What happened? How do I fix it? Thanks for any help.

if everything is back as it was then what about fuses? did any blow? i bet they did....

well there has to be something either not connected or blown somewhere. maybe a wire got burnt in two from the arch? might have to do some inspecting.

There's a fusible link in the circut near the starter relay. There should be a yellow tag saying LINK. When there's a short this piece of wire is designed to melt and break contact. Think of it as a low-buck fuse. Look in the center of the diagram and you'll see it wired into the starter relay circut.

Hope this helps!

Ok, I went and looked at the fuseable link and its blown. What do I need to do to fix it? Thanks for all the help!!!

You can get replacement fusible links at most parts stores; look in their electrical section. While you're replacing it, check for corrosion at the bulkhead connector, also.
