I have a problem...my passenger door does NOT open for the life of me. Its not a matter of the outside button or inside handle being connected to the mechanism, or the mechanism being locked, it is, for the lack of a better word, broken, internally. The mechanism levers have the look like the latch is engaged in the first "click" when you close the door. Not sure if this is a common problem and or if anyone has any ideas...the only other way to get the door open is to cut a hole in the outside of a perfectly rust free, straight door to get it open...

That happened to me once. I ended up opening the door with a coat hanger (like if you had locked yourself out). I found the problem to be simple, 35 years of service it needed lubrication. I oiled up the mechanisms in and outside the door latch and rods and they have worked great ever since.

I sprayed it down with royal purple maxi-film and tried getting it open with a long screw driver but even if I move the linkage to the correct position it doesn't unlatch or change anything.

I've tried just about everything to get it open short of torching the latch off from the inside out. Which very well might need to happen unfortunately...
