Started this swap on December 27th 2019. Few months in and have mostly everything now. Originally 74 duster 440 727 car. Fun, but not what I wanted. Now 2014 5.7 from Durango. Inner fenders welded in, never had them, tail panel and I fabbed the whole trunk and tubs myself. Pst front end and 518 trans. Crossmember built, and now im in the ending stages and looking for a few parts and advice. Looks like the trans wont mount directly .060 off. So now I'll build the adapter. After this is in, what flex plate to adapt the 2 together? Im getting mixed searches on here. I'll switch the overdrive for now on a toggle. Next is the fuel system. Corvette fpr, and im building my own tank and sending unit. Redneck hot rod on you tube is some good stuff to learn by (even though it's LS related). My brother destroyed the grill in our move so now I need a 72 grill. Trans tunnel needed some shaping. Now done. New floors built here with no brake lol. Turned out very well. Now what convertor for the trans? Good luck, bad luck? Now also need remote oil setup. I'll post as many pics as I can on here. And I'm very open to sharing everything I've built here complete with measurements.

Build will be mild. Greene cam, no meds, mmx drop in piston and rotating assembly. Next will be larger TB and eventually a torqstorm super charger. All bugs will be worked out over summer for driveability and then next winter, full tear down for paint and rebuild. Im baseing a lot of my build off a local scat pac challenger that runs 9s. Owned by seth harris, I believe it's the fastest manually shifted scat pack right now. But I've been wrong. Build will be between 550 to 700 hp. Trans is gonna be sent to my cousin that owns a trans shop in Madison Wisconsin.

The benefits of owning a tire shop! These will hook decently I think! 315/60r15 Mickey et street radial

First, great build! You will not miss that 440. ATI makes the flexplate with correct offset, no adapters needed. I don't have any experience with aftermarket convertors for the 518. Seems like Cope Racing Transmissions has done a lot with the 518 recently. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! I sold the 440 and so far I've got about 700 bucks into the build with way more money left over. However, after trying to mock up the trans to the engine, the input shaft is way too close to the crank. I shimmed it with washers to get close, and then slotted the holes for the trans mount. There's no easy way to get the tabs close enough with the t convertor in place. It literally hits. I've read up here and elsewhere that some of these hemis need that space and after measuring the bell to the nag 1 convertor and the 518 bell to the converter, I can tell a big difference.

Metal for tank came in today! Now mock up has begun! What's everyone doing for baffling on the inside?
