is there other typical issues with a demon looking at a used one for example typical rust issues etc

Take a business card type magnet with you to look at the car. If it has a vinyl roof, check it closely at the lower rear portion of the roof where it meets the window. Also down low on the rear quarter panels & the doglegs on the front fenders.
