'72 Thermoquad 6139S has a solenoid for what reason?

My second hand TQ is missing a electric solenoid that I found pictured on another carb for sale. Don't think I need it, but nonetheless I would like to know what it's purpose was on the factory vehicles? Thank you.

I think it holds the throttle open more under certain conditions like if AC is on.
 
Per the tutorial link provided by Daves69, the solenoid is used to set curb idle speed, and to allow the throttle to close more after ignition is turned off (to prevent run-on/dieseling).
