Is there a spot on trans for linkage that goes thru the floor. Thanks for the help I'm new at this. Lee

Some later truck transmissions don't have the two holes/tabs/ears at the front of the tailshaft necessary to bolt on the console shifter downshaft linkage retainer. If you use a column shifter this is not a problem, otherwise some fabrication will be necessary

Yes Lee there is. Again, depending on which tail shaft housing you have.
Check out the photo below. The 2 holes circled are where the floor shift linkage bracket is bolted to.



The bracket itself looks like this.
