Friend called about a 727 rebuild. The number given is PK 4431552 9216 2091. Cant seem to find that #. Any help appreciated.

Build date was 11/21/86, but since the list I have only goes up to '85, I can't help beyond that.

Googled and came up with these bits of info:

Decoded the stamp on the transmission PK 4431552 9988 8395:
PK = Kokomo Plant
4431552 = Chrysler part number for a 727 transmission.
9988 = production date 12/11/88
8395 = sequence number.
Further searching indicated the part number and sequence was issued to a 1988 Dodge Diplomat police cruiser.

Also:

Make DODGE
Model VAN B250
Year 1988
Automatic Yes
Engine Size 5.9
Transmission Type 727
Part Number 20582316
Tag ID 4431552

A little note on non-lockup vs lockup:

Lockup transmissions will have a smooth end on the input shaft (no splines) for the first 3/4", then splines will begin. The non-lock-ups will have splines to the end. Lockup converters can't be used with non-lockup transmissions, nor can non-lockup converters be used with lockup transmissions
