I just filled my 727 and I notice tat I have a small leak where the speedo drive is. All looks and feels tight.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
ian.

There is a small seal inside of it where the speedo cable fits inside. Check that or the neutral safety switch might be leaking. A tranny shop should have the seal.

The seal kit for the speedo drive adaptor is part# 4883434AA.

Can I pull the speedo gear without draining the trans ?

Start it and run in neutral for a min right before you pull the speedo assy out and a lot less fluid will come out.
You don't have to drain it, but you will need to catch a little fluid.

Cool, a picture.
Thanks JTG

I just filled the trans so we could see if we can get the engine started...I am a bit high on the dipstick due to none of the lines or cooler is filled so i suspect the level should go down...thought perhaps it was this.

I will go out to Chrysler tomorrow..

Thanks
Ian.
