What parts are needed to change my 727 that is non lockup. To change it over to a lockup trans ? Also how much will the rpm change, at cruising speed ? and how much might it lower my trans temp ? I want to use a low stall converter.

Not able to be done. The transmissions are very different - the pump, valve body, converter of course. There are different passages in the case I believe. You should just find a lock up trans and rebuild it. Between a stock and lockup converter the temperature difference is negligible.

If heat is a concern, find a large transmission cooler.

I see about 10 degrees difference when in lockup out on the open road.
Around town in low speed stop and go is where the converter really generates heat.

Thanks guys. I thought I could just change to input shaft/converter and a few other parts...I was wrong!
I pull a small camper (1000 lbs) temp will spike up 230 . but usually around 200. I do not have a cooler in the RAD. But do have a stand alone cooler. Maybe I should install a larger cooler. I have a low stall converter.
