I finally got my 340 going and I can't get it to go into third gear. The trans is a 727 with a TF2 kit that I installed and the converter is a 9.5" Dynamic unit. Reverse works fine and the 1-2 shift is very solid. I've tried screwing in the kickdown linkage adjuster at the carb stud all the way in, but it hasn't helped (yes, I do have a spring pulling the kickdown rod forward towards the throttle stud.)

Any ideas? Is there an adjustment in the valve body that I can do? Could the band be out of adjustment, even though I adjusted them when I put the kit in?

I've looked in the FSM, but this scenario isn't covered.

Thanks for the help, guys. I appreciate it.

Never mind folks. I figured it out when I got home from work. The modified stock kickdown linkage was binding a bit. Shifts well now in all 3.
