727 's been sitting.

My 340 is looking real good inside and now I'm starting to wonder about the trans. It has been sitting for most of the last decade. Last time this combo ran,5 yrs ago, it shifted fine.

What do you think? Put it in the Dart and pray or take it apart? Ihaven't gone in a auto in a long time. And the budget doesn't allow a pro rebuild.

If you are just gonna cruise, dont worry about it unless you see it leak. Time is hell on seals.

If you're going to the strip, be cool and and make some 3/4 throttle runs then check for leaks.

Rebuild kits aren't terribly expensive, and the 727 isn't too bad to build. If you have decent mechanical knowledge and a good 727 tech manual, you are good to go.
