i have a 4x4 and trany is bad it have a 727 trany in it , i have a good 727 trany it have a long tail shaft , could i take tranfer case off and add it to the good trany ??? what do i need to do to get it to work ?

By the time you take the effort to switch the tailshafts, you'll have 2 727s completely apart to do it( if the 2nd one has the correct case). You are better off buying the right rebuild kit from Northern Auto Parts, rebuild the original tranny and leave the extra for a project that needs a long tailshaft.

Agreed. The output shaft has to be changed because a 4x4 shaft is shorter than a car/light truck output shaft. To do that you need to completely disassemble the trans.
