73-76 A Center Links

[65 Dartman]

A friend of mine said he found a 74 A Body with a dropped centerlink. Right beside it is a 75 with a much deep drop on the centerlink. I was under the impression that 73-76 center links were all the same whether for slants or V8s. Can anyone shed some light on this for my friend.

The 67 to 72 has a deeper drop than the 73 to 76 do to the way the pitman and idler arm mount. Could be some one was swapping around parts.

The deeper drop on the earlier centerlink was due to the fact that it mounted above the pitman/idler, while the later ones mount below the pitman/idler. Take a look at how they are mounted.

I told my buddy he needs to buy a small digital camera to take with him since his cell is so primitive it doesn't even have a camera. I'm not a lot of help since I don't know that much about the later stuff.
