As far as Im aware these are not manufactured by any of the large parts houses.

How do guys feel about looking into getting these things remolded. My car is missing them and to be honest I have never seen one off the vehicle. This maybe expensive or to difficult but I think it is worthwhile checking out. If we can get enough people to buy them it may be a worthwhile exercise. There is a large injection molding company not far from me. I could ask them for an opinion but I would need a donor set of good ones to show them.

What do you think? Would you be in for a set?

Well i don't think you looked hard enough.Check out Classic Industries

I am talking about the plastic molded panels that go above rear door panel and stretches right back to back window. Are they called sail panels or some other name. Not sure what the classic industries ones are but they look nothing like this. Obviosly not a wanted item due to the poor response to this post. Oh well at least I tried.

See pic here of the ones im taliking about

Ok sorry I guess the are not then.

I think the 73' up Dusters/Dart Sports are starting to get some attention now that they are a little more scarce(have some value) and oem parts are even more scarce.

Those parts you are talking about are the molded interior sail panels, these replaced the metal ones on 70-72 cars. By the way, getting a full set of metals including the door caps would be the way to go if you can't find vintage plastic ones. Also, the ones molded in black tended to outlast other colors. Still possible to score good used ones. OEM was not ABS, they were a harder type plastic. The wheelwell panels on the spacedusters were ABS though.

Molds are expensive, it would be pretty pricey for someone to re-pop these. Might be worth tracking down the ones mopar had. Probably sitting in somebody's basement somewhere. Maybe the last ones were molded in Mexico along with the Mexican Dusters.

They do make new tail light bezels for the 73-76 Duster(base ones) so as time marches on we can expect other things like new bucket seat cushions and all the plastic bits for the interior.
