Been a long while since posting but finally getting some major work done with my car.
As of yesterday I've gotten the 318 and 727 pulled out because, while it sounds pretty good, it leaks every fluid put in the car and my driveway looks like an abstract artists mixed-media painting.
Okay, here's my real question. the 318 in this has been bored over and cammed (I have no specifics other than 30 over). In short, I know very little about it other than it sound pretty good and doesn't seem tired. I have a friend with a 78 dodge truck with a 360 he would sell me. It is very clean and other than a new intake and carb, nothing has been done to it.
Opinions - should I stick with the "built" 318 or go for the cubic inches?!
Also, I know I would have to get a new oil pan and balance the converter but would I need to get different motor mounts. The truck is also a manual so would that make a difference in it bolting up to the 727?
Any of your thoughts on this would be appreciated!
