73 duster 440 with floor shifter

so i am just starting my personal first resto on a 73 plymouth duster. I bought the car no motor no tranny it was a /6 with a three on the tree.I bought it with a v8 k frame and a 7 3/4 rearend. My plan was going to build a 318 for it but my friend has a 440 out of a motor home his wife is making him get rid of it so im basically getting a motor for free. my questions are
1 a sutable trans for street driving but some long road trips, i was thinking a 4 speed

2 what mods am i going to run into that im probably not forseeing

Thanks im a seasoned mechinic and can fabricate not to knowledgable with body work though.
