Not sure if this is the proper location for this question. But I was wondering how does the jack handle for a seventy three plymouth duster mount in the trunk with the jack. Pics if you got them...thanks... Trying to find how the factory mounted to handle with the Jack in the trunk on the side.Of the passage to her side. I found one picture it Show that the jack handle went through the round part of the spring That holds the Jack to the trunk. I would think that that round piece On the spring would be used by the owner to release the jack

This is a '75 Swinger, but it should be the same as your Duster.

Slide the jack handle through the loop on the spring, then slide it into the loop welded to the trunk floor. The lug wrench end then sits in the notch of the lower jack saddle with the wrench end pointed up. Then sit the jack in the upper and lower saddles; hook the spring to the finger on the jack and work the jack mechanism upwards until there is tension on the spring. This captures the lug wrench/tire iron/jack handle (whatever you want to call it) and prevents movement and rattling. To release it, work the jack mechanism down until tension is off the spring and you can remove all the parts.

Does the Jack mast itself set on top of the lug wrench or beside it...

does the trunk mat sit under the jack or is there a cut out in the mat?

thanks Professor, that doesnt look like an oem trunk mat though, would a factory mat have cut outs for the jack assembly?
