New shoes on the girl she earned them. I love the look I could have gone 275/60r15 but these are safe and no rubbing.

I purchased the Sound German Automotive controller 1032.00 delivered to door. Lots of cars have been completed with Russell Drake's unit with good results. These are daily drivers done at home in most cases. The Lamik unit is very very expensive and considering it's not turn key and requires modifications to transmission I passed it up. There is a group for the swaps on Facebook all these builds are the Sound German unit. I did a lot of reading up and everything on the Lamik site was very over priced in my opinion. Also seems legit garage had some nice pieces not bad prices.
Sound German Automotive

considering cost of swap this is a big investment. They are selling brand new ZF 8HP70 for 15000.00. Insane new I got mine for 1500 with 26000 miles from a 2020 Scat pack 6.4 car. I mean this is not turn key and I'm about to slice and dice my tunnel a bit. I'm sure I will be happy I have a lot of interest from folks and wow all that old garbage gone from 727 is welcome as with long tube headers and torsion bars this has no room under there. This transmission is big lol but not much heavier than a 727a.
I’m doing the 8hp / 360 swap and I’d really like to speak with someone who has completed one with Russel's controller and the JVX adapter looking for any surprises ,pros, and cons etc. If you have time I can be reached any day 8am to 9pm Central Time my name is Webster 504-452-2241

Yeah I’m a member and follow that one just looking to have a phone conversation with someone as detailed in 4.7s thread

Installed some KYB shocks tonight night and day difference on launch and driving car. I didn't expect this much difference from Monroe with less than 5000 miles in them.

Oil leaks found....

Nothing worse then doing things three and four times sigh. New power steering hoses ordered. Retorqued timing cover water pump bolts after tightening again and replaced the bolts in lower pulley for harmonic balancer. Blue locktite and lock washers on all six pulley bolts.

Getting ready to renew my insurance and I need to raise the value. I love the idea of cheap insurance, but things have changed. If I look at FrakenDart, yes many call it that. It's not in a bad way they are shocked at the Challenger console 8 speed ZF and other things. I realize to rebuild this car or someone else rebuild it would be 45000 to 50000. That's a new car needing restoration and it being a 360 Dart Sport E58 package. Not many were made I understand.

So what is a fair value for insurance that makes sense. Obviously it has to appraise now with this kind of value. What can I expect in current economy? Maybe 35000 taking into account engine build 7000, low mileage 8hp70/75 Challenger/Charger 2500? Price of car, good car with straight body mostly original. Would prefer to find a running driving car no rust if had to. Doing all the work like did last time cost many hours and I would not want to do it again. Just thinking I did all the wiring from scratch, all the lines, brakes, suspension, also I did lots of upgrades with receipts for it all. Not including labor and only adding up materials and parts and outside machine shop and other things I'm easily at the 35000 mark. I would not use old things again or recondition myself. I would either upgrade or buy new built replacement or pro rebuilder for certain items.

So thoughts on this and is it a fair value? Just thinking this through as I almost got killed multiple times by rubber neckers and idiots.

My powder coated frame off nut and bolt restoration, 74 power wagon. I would estimate at least in the fifty thousand dollar range... I paid haggerty fifteen hundred dollars a year for thirty thousand dollars, agreed upon... after 2 years of 99% of the time being in my shop and anytime I took it out, it never left my sight, I gave up giving them all that money for nothing. And now it's on my wife's u s a a for 9 dollars a month, and I haven't lost a wink of sleep...
That's my story...

Ordered a new Saginaw pump from March Performance. I may do the borgesen steering box next. Steering box works fine but PS pump was flaky at best.

Installing some hood pins tomorrow. I noticed it's pretty obvious the dimple just in front of each hood bumper. I think I'm going to grab some new shocks for front as well.

Knocking down my list of things slowly but surely. Wife ordered me a windshield for my birthday with install. Excited to knock that out and do a little finish work I want to do. Next year will be the Strange 60 from Dr Diff. Pretty sure 3.23 gears and have them set it up for offset leaf spring hangers. Trying to decide how extreme I go on rear setup. Do I just do leafs or go crazy 4 link.

The more I drive the car the more I like flipping and pushing it around. I really wanna have some fun at Hallet but would like to prep the car for more spirited I driving. Having a blast doing things then seeing improvements and then doing more. It's about having fun the money doesn't matter great hobby enjoying the ride.

Pins are in just cheapos maybe eventually order some factory style didn't wanna wait. I figure anyone doing this is how I did it and was simple I took my time. No directions on my set so A body forum and do it.

More of the same repair and it's like this because I also had some paint solvent issues in these two locations bare metal was the only solution to correct properly. I believe the SPI sealer was not dry enough or to heavy prior to paint. 20 minutes won't do that again will wait more 45 minutes.

I'm sure the crap I found hidden is shocking this was the only place I didnt dig on the door. I should have I depended on someone else's shotty work. Only thing I would change body wise I would have taken longer. Life happens having fun.

Little high build, block wet sand and ready for paint again. I also got my AC lines done wife wants it hooked up and charged I agree it's time. All installed but two inside car to do and done. Hopefully I make car show this coming weekend.

i've looked at those hydraulic crimpers, are they easy to use? the results look good, so that looks to be what i'll get when i'm at that stage with my 58 nash gasser build. yes a/c in a gasser, lol.
neil.

They are the same ones as on Summit but not 450 dollars. They are only 115 on Amazon I am super impressed and will make other items like Teflon braided fuel lines.

I love the waves and thumbs up, it’s nice to see other people can appreciate the old cars we drive. I’ve got a 74 Dart Sport 360 that’s been cloned into a Duster (pics below), and it’s great when I’m at a gas station and people come over to look and take pictures.

When you figure out what needs to be fixed / replaced, make sure to post as I’m having the same problem! I haven’t taken the door card off yet to see what’s going on but I’m hoping it just needs new felt / whiskers.

My rattle was the manual remote mirror cable and routing.

More things off the list seat covers are in I like the front hate the back. But this was a cheap for now option for now. When I retire she gets full actual leather installed. I will probably by then have beaten the paint to death will likely have the stripped and show finish done. Car will be mostly done by then ha! Plan to get AC charged coming weeks and do some little dash things to make it pretty.

Switch panel for transmission mode
Fan bypass in case of emergency switch
Looking at inexpensive options for radio honestly think the little dual unit with blue tooth and four speakers will look retro enough in the old radio slot with some modification. 5 Channel amp with a under rear seat subwoofer 3 inch thick 10 inch speake. Appears it will fit perfectly in middle back of back seat in the cross beam support.

Nothing crazy for speakers the polk or pioneers should be fine for the four speakers.

Paint the dash well basically dye it SEM satin black.
Modify my column from auto to manual with steering wheel removed pretty sure I can do this right in car. Seen a few do it and looks nice and cleaned up. Will remove if needed well see.

Really happy with how car drives now and it's manners. Tuned properly now I can start with having to worry in heat about flooding or need to help with pedal. No hesitation at all it's a monster now with close to 5000 miles on it. Plan to change my yearly oil change to Driven conventional 10-40. Big smiles from me and others cars rolling up and blowing by 100 to 120 with ease. Love the 8 speed auto and car season is fun to cruise. Not really doing shows but cars coffee and little drive ins the kids organize. I plan to attend Tulsa drag way drive in on the 5th of July. Would love to meet some of you if you all go there.

Tip great cruise is from highway 20 Barnsdale ok then north to Bartlesville Oklahoma. Swing by Frank Phillips ranch Wiloroc. They all have a car show here in October time frame in Bartlesville and a 100 Mile cruise. I plan to enter my car this year it's a hotrod power tour deal as well.
