'74 Dart Sport console removal

I almost have the heater core out of my '74 Dart Sport, but the console needs to move back about 4 inches to slide it out from under the dash. I removed the two rear mounting screws that are accessed from the storage compartment. I can lift up on the back a few inches, but it is attached at the front somehow. I couldn't see how the forward console cover plate was attached. Otherwise if that could be removed, I could see attaching hardware near the front.
I don't think I will need to remove the (auto trans) shifter just to move the console back a few inches.

There should be a screw on both sides of the console body near the front. You might be able to drop the shifter down into 1st gear & get the clearance needed after removing the screws....
