First time post (kinda)
My new (again) to me project, 74 Dart Sport.
This was my first car project when I was 15-yo but not my first rodeo since I grew up in a Mopar family. It started out life as a 6-cyl factory auto on the floor. I was B5 blue with a half vinyl top with a white wrap around stripe and was much the same when I bought it in 1989 from a low budget auto sales 4 miles down the road from my parents for $400. I immediately began tearing it down and before I knew it it was repainted, and sporting a warmed up 318 auto with a 8 3/4 3:55 rear...
Fast forward to this weekend. After a long time (15 years) concentrating on my other Mopar love (80's turbo Mopar's) I decided to dig this car out of its 20 year toom in the back of my garage for another go-round. Even though its been in storage the time took its toll. Its still in good shape overall, but def not as good as it was when last driven. My plan is to do a few things to it that I didn't have the scratch to do back when I was 15. First off, replace that ugly-*** 74 rear bumper with a 70-73 unit and on to the "4-speed" swap. I've always wanted to do that to it and over the years I've slowly collected the parts to do so. Next, motor dept, not sure yet what to do here but something will be done. Maybe even a BB(?). From there who knows... That car in reality isn't worth **** so I may do some fun things that I would never do to my GTS.
Anyway here's a few pic's from back in the day.
Here's a few pic's its reintroduction to direct sunlight...
After a bath and new shoes...
