Strange topic that I've never seen addressed: The different bumpers that came on the 1974 Dart and Valiant models.
I've owned more 1974 year model Darts, Valiants and Dusters than any other year. I've noticed that every one has had the shock absorber REAR bumper, but the front style varied. Some were the shock absorber type, some had the traditional fixed bracket style. It doesn't matter whether it is an early or late build, I've seen both types all through the model year. Most of the non shock types have a horizontal bar tying the brackets together.
Yesterday I was working on my 74 Duster 360. I have 4 non shock bumpers to choose from, I wanted to use the nicest one. I got it without brackets. I found that the bolt holes of the bumper did not line up with the brackets. Now I'm wondering if there were 3 different bumpers for 1974.
