74 duster stuck seat belt

Any advice on a stuck driver's side seat belt. I can open it up and hold the white tab open to make it slide, but otherwise the bottom locks.

If I remember correctly, it's a spring that gets weak in there. Supposed to hold the ratchet latch - tab - back, until a quick rotation overcomes it and it holds. You'll have to disassemble and carefully adjust, making sure it still grabs if it un-spools quickly. It might be safer to replace it.
