'74 Scamp - possible to shave drip rails?

Obviously it's possible to take them off... but how would the door glass seal to the roof without them? It looks like if you truly shaved the rails, the glass would just kind of lay up against the roof and I would imagine that's bad for business. Anybody have any insight on making this work?

Dude you need to stop thinking there is a Ledge there under the rail.

the door glass seals to the weather strip and there is a little bit of metal above it. Drip rails were an OPTION on some of these cars

if the car is garaged and rarely driven in the rain then it's cool to do.......I wouldn't if she's your daily driver

the glass seals against the weatherstrip, which is set in a piece of stainless trim (in my Demon anyway)
