741 Case

So this may be a dumb question but hey let’s give it a go. My 71 dart came with a open 741 8 3/4 rear end. I’ve been looking around for a suregrip for it and lots of places want say stuff like 35 spline count. Was there a standard spline count that came from the factory for this setup? Or do I just have to break down and open up my rear end to physically count what’s in there? Thanks I’m advance for the help!

Standard axle spline count for an 8 3/4 is 30 spline, period. Doesnt matter if its 741,742, or 489. Anything else is aftermarket for an aftermarket spool or lsd. (sorry, limited slip differential).

I bought the Sure Track II back in Feb because there was no time frame on the Sure Grip. Looks like it was worth the extra money.
