741 yoke

I bought a 741 center section and need a new yoke as the yoke on the pumpkin is toast. It is a non sure grip with 276 gears if that helps. Let me know what you have! Thanks for looking.

A fine spline yoke on a 741 case? I have never seen one. All the 741 cases I've seen are coarse spline. Your sure it has 29 splines, not 10 splines?

Do you have any idea what year the gear set is? Just curious since I've never seen a set of 741 gears with the fine splines. Sorry to get off track, as they say "curiosity kills the cat"

If it came out of an early B-body and has a fine spline gear set it wasn't original. All early stuff was coarse spline. It wasn't until at least 69 when the fine spline stuff came out. I bet if you look on the gear set you'll see a date code.

Wouldn't surprise we if it was not the original pumpkin as it came out of an a body even though it is a b body housing.
