My 1970 Duster with 727 trans doesn't want to lock into park or start in park will start in neutral but
won't start in park and won't lock up in park so that it doesn't want to roll.

You need to adjust the linkage.

Refer to the Factory Service Manual.

Nut shell

Get the rear up on the air.
Disconnect the trans shifter linkage
Manually shift the trans into park.
You will know it is in park because you can't rotate the drive shaft.
Move the shifter into park.

Move the adjuster till the adjuster lines up with the tran arm.

Tighten the linkage and test with rear in the air.

Remember to apply the brakes till the rear wheels stop before shifting into park or reverse

LMFAO! That did not take long before that went down hill quickly! This is why I love this site.

They still have explosion problems with the factory clutch drums.

Yeah, but does your 747 have any trannies onboard?
We uses those kinds of trannies as turbine wipes or cleaner. Dip then in parts washer then throw them into the spinning turbine blades. It hard on the turbine blades if you don't remove their watches and belt buckles first.
