79 Column in a 71?

I know where there is a 79 aspen i think it is, and I am wondering what the chances are that the steering column will fit in my 71 demon. My car is 3 in the tree, and the 79 is 3spd on the floor. I'm doubtful it will fit, but there is no harm in asking.

The entire column will not bolt in. But you can probably put the collars from the Aspen column (floor shift) on yours so that you don't have a shifter on your existing column. I have done this before with collar pieces from a truck column.

Thats even better, the guy wants a little more then i think its worth, especially since i can't use a lot of it, but I thought i'd ask just in case. Thanks a lot!
