I have an opportunity to purchase a 340 from a local guy who currently has it in a 48 Jeepster. Included in the purchase is an 8 1/4 rear. Will the rear end fit a 73 Dart Sport? I'd like to swap as mine is 7 1/4. Any potential issues?

You'll need to find out where the 8.25" rear end originally came from. If it's from an A Body, then it will fit, provided it hasn't been narrowed or if the spring perches havn't been moved. Get some measurements, including spring perch to spring perch, and total width as these measurements will tell the tale. You'll also want to determind what gear ratio it has, and if it's a sure grip or not. Good luck.
