I have an 8 1/4 rear axle that I'm getting parts for and I was wondering if it's ok to take a new pinion bearing and sand down the inside so it will slip on and off. The old pinion had a .070 shim under the race and none under the bearing. I plan on reinstalling the race shim and fine tunning it with bearing shims. It would be a lot easier if you could pull off the pinion bearing with your hands. Would this cause any problems with the setup?

Also does anyone know where I can get all the torque specs for this axle? I looked online but haven't found them all.
