8 1/4 swap to 8 3/4 brakes GRINDING

i got a 8 3//4 got new axles from moser, switched over the backing plates from my 8 1/4, all new brakes, put it all together and the brakes were grinding on the inside lip of the drum. Any ideas why this would be happening?

Are the shoes too wide for the drum? Measure the braking surface in the drum and then the shoe.

If you see wear all the way to the inside edge, that would be my guess.

Well that was my guess too.. but how many different widths of brake pads do they make for an a body

I believe the A body rear shoes are 1 3/4" wide.
