8.25 diff question

hey guys. i just scored a really nice complete 8.25 a body, bbp, w/ a 3:23 sure grip from craigslist. it is in need of a backing plate. does anyone know if the backing plates from a 7.25 or an 8.75 are the same? i know a 8.75 has a 5 bolt flange. i just have a set of 10'' plates laying around... and also, is the 8.25 axels c-clips or non c-clip bolt ins? thanks for any help guys!!

The backing plates off of an 8-3/4" should fit, just using the four bolt holes. The OD of the axle is the same as far as I remember.

And the 8-1/4" axles are c-clip types. Let me know if you ever find any c-clip eliminators for these axles though. Haven't looked, but they don't seem readily available.
