8-3/4 assembly question

I just want to clear something up because I think I've confused myself. When assembling an 8-3/4, are there supposed to be two gaskets between the tub flange and the retainer? I looked up a couple diagrams online and one was showing two gaskets before putting the retainer on. Not sure why. I'm going to be using green bearings.

1 Gasket is fine. Green bearings are sealed and the gasket probably won't do much but make you fell better about it being there.
