8-3/4 Axle Gasket Placement

I am getting close to putting my 8-3/4 together. I purchased my 8-3/4 parts separately, so I did not disassemble it.

I purchased two types of gaskets for the axles. One is a thin metal gasket, and the other is a foam material. My question is, which gasket goes where? My guess would be that the metal gasket would go between the differential housing and the brake packing plate, and the other would go between the axle retainer flange and the brake backing plate.

i just did my 8 3/4 and with a lot of help here went real smooth infact took the dart around the block and all is good.Ok the thin metal one goes on first than your backing plate.The foam one you have goes against the bearing plate retainer,so befor you slide your axel in install the foam gasket your done.
